The Messier Bits: The New Pergola
This was a huge 2 year project which Chris designed and built (almost) single-handed.
It is planted in classic summer dry style. The soil has had no amendments and the gardens are mulched in pea gravel large enough for seeds to fall through out of the light. This means we get almost no seed germination. No water and no fertilizer, just carefully chosen plants.
